hi , i recently installed windows 7, 64 bit and im getting timed out messages when i ping -t
I have wrt54g v7 router and wmp54g v4.1 adapter
After failing in installing the driver i downloaded from this site for my adapter i have done the ralink fix (256/266) (problem with that fix is my pc freezes completely when i use a lot of bandwith. ) but it gave me a internet connection to update. So I let windows update download following driver : linksys wireless-G PCI adapter v2.0.3.0.
Now with this installed i got the lag pikes ive known from vista(zero config) and i installed the wlanoptimizer which gets the wlan autoconfig (as it is now called) out of the way.
BUT : now when i ping it says 'opdracht timed out' (dutch) 1x with difrent times in between .. so the ping cmd goes well but every minute , sometimes 30sec sometimes 40sec i get 1x 'timed out' message
Ive seen on other forums people saying the windows update driver i got now isnt really good. I have tried installing driver from the site manually and failed.
I think because theres no real driver for the wmp54g v4.1 windows 7 x64.
i dont want to buy a new router / adapter.. any help and/or tips are welcome
