WRT54G - IP Addresses

I am having a problem getting my WRT54G and DSL Modem on the same page in reference to IP addresses.  This is causing me not to be able to get internet access.

Here are the settings:

Westell 427 DSL Modem (ISP Settings)

IP Address: 192.168.1.100
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway:     192.168.1.1
DNS Server: 192.168.1.1

Linksys Router:

IP Address: Defaults to 192.168.0.1

I've read that the third number in these addresses (except Subnet Mask) should
be the same.  I've tried to change my router address to 192.168.1.xxx and keep getting a message saying that my "LAN Address is the same as my WAN address."  No matter what number i put in "xxx" I keep getting the same message so I end up having to go back to 192.168.0.xxx.

Does anyone know how I get all these addresses on xxx.xxx.1.xxx and get rid of
this message?

Thanks in advance!
