*THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN SOLVED*
I solved this issue after it seemed like I tryed everything but nothing worked. What I did was use a PPPoE connection and my ISP walked me through how to do it, now when connected straight to my modem i get NAT 1, but through the modem is useless so I managed to (i think) setup PPPoE on the router and I get a perfect type 2!!!! So coming from me if nothing works setup up your PS3 with a PPPoE and make sure your routers settings are configured properly, any advice on setting up a PPPoE through the router would be nice though since I just kept all the default settings.

First of all i have a linksy WRT54G ver6 fully updated router and my modem is from my service provider EMBARQ which is the 660series and to make this simply as possible unlike the other threads i have read cause just like you guys who is still stuck on Nat3 for your ps3 i've tried everything in and under the book and all that stuff about open ports and dmz throw it all out the window so here it is just like your router that has it own web base page such as 192.168.1.1 your modem has the same page and when i called my service provider yesterday it was so simply i felt crazy after they had me on hold for 40min but well worth it and all i had to do was bridge my modem and after i click the button that said bridge the modem i was done and all i had to do after then was recycle the power on my router and modem just a reminder i said recycle not reset then i turned my ps3 on went to network settings and did everything in auto config and there i had it the wonderful NAT2 i couldn't believe my eyes after all the time and research i put in all i had to do was call my service provider who were wonderful besides having me on hold for 40min but thank god for speaker phone lol
