WUSB54G v4 and win 7x64

so ive been having constant BSOD's for my windows 7 pro install. the dump logs all point to a problem with the WUSB54G drivers for my WUSB54G ver4 device. from all ive seen online, there are only drivers for the 32 bit version. does anyone know if linksys will ever support this for 64 bit?

Yep confirmed I have the same adapter and despite Linksys worst efforts it will not work. Cant get the Wusb600n v1 or 2 to work either, tried netgear, no luck ......so now going to try TP -Link TLWN727n......wish me luck!

Re: WUSB54G v4 and win 7x64

well after much MUCH searching, i discovered drivers that are working no thanks to linksys. i had to track down the chipset manufacturer for the device which is Ralink. and while their website is crappy, they do have drive support for vista 64 bit (and with that also win 7 64bit). installed from http://www.ralinktech.com/support.php?s=1

the model in question is the RT2500, they have drivers for the PCI and the USB versions.

had to totally uninstall the current drivers from win 7 and then install and doing the "let me choose where to look" option. the driver installed and the device is seen as a Ralink device. and so far after a week, no BSOD.

you would think that as much as they sold the WUSB54G and its sister router the WRT54G (which i also have) for last couple years that oh, hey vista 64 bit has been out for a while, lets make some working 64 bit drivers to support our device. nope. instead i buy $100 worth of equipment that can work in a 64 bit environment but isnt supported. GG linksys, wont be buying linksys products again.
